BoyleSports had been using a managed WiFi service from Eircom but needed a smarter solution that would provide a wider range of business capabilities.

Businesses all across Ireland are discovering the organisational benefits of advanced WiFi capabilities. Providing a well-connected environment can benefit business by helping organisations get to know their customers, and could even be a form of income generation. It can open up great marketing opportunities, but also increase a sense of community and help make customers feel welcome.

BoyleSports wanted to provide their customers with unlimited WiFi access in all of their 210 betting shops across Ireland. They also wanted to be able to capture user data such as email addresses and time and location of WiFi sessions, and to direct users to download their mobile app. 

Users are now directed to the mobile app download page immediately upon connecting, and their session information (time, location, etc.) is added to a database. BoyleSports are now able to use this data in order to promote their mobile app and to send specific promotions relevant to different customer groups. They are also able to cross-reference their WiFi customer database with their app account database to improve accuracy of data.

BoyleSports was founded in 1989 and is the largest independent bookmaker in Ireland. It offers a range of products including sports bets, poker and casino bets, bingo, and lottery. As well as offering retail stores, it also operates a telephone betting service, a web-based option and a mobile app.
